Design Engineer
Live where design meets code — build polished, production-grade interfaces for AI products that regulated teams actually trust.

- Full-time
About the role
We make complex, high-stakes AI legible — and the interface is where that promise is kept or broken. As a Design Engineer, you’ll own the craft layer: turning ideas and Figma into fast, accessible, beautifully built UI, and pushing back on the design when the implementation reveals a better answer.
You’ll work across our marketing site, product surfaces, and the bespoke data visualizations that make model behaviour understandable. If you light up at a 200ms transition done right and a component API that’s a joy to use, this is for you.
What you’ll do
- Build production UI in Svelte / SvelteKit — components, motion, and layout that hold up on real content and real devices.
- Translate design intent into systems: reusable components, tokens, and patterns rather than one-off screens.
- Craft data-driven visualizations and micro-interactions that explain what a model did and why.
- Own accessibility, performance, and responsiveness as first-class requirements, not afterthoughts.
- Prototype quickly to pressure-test ideas, then harden the ones that work.
- Collaborate tightly with designers, ML engineers, and the founders.
What we’re looking for
- 3+ years shipping front-end at a high craft bar; a portfolio or live work we can poke at.
- Deep CSS — layout, animation, and an eye for the details most people skip.
- Strong JavaScript and a modern component framework (Svelte a plus; React/Vue experience transfers).
- The instinct to know when “good enough” isn’t, and the discipline to know when it is.
- Comfort working from ambiguous briefs and turning them into something concrete.
Bonus points
- Experience with motion/animation libraries, WebGL/Canvas, or SVG-heavy interfaces.
- Built or maintained a design system or component library.
- Care for the seams: empty states, error states, loading, and edge cases.
Why Neuralcraft
Small team, high ownership, and work that ships. You’ll set the craft bar for everything users see, with the autonomy to do it properly — and the trust that the details matter here.
